Why Peregrinus?
The Peregrine Falcon is known for wandering hundreds of miles in a day [source] or more than the entire length of England, north to south. They're found on every continent [source] (except Antarctica); their impressive range and influence make them the perfect bird to model. The word Peregrinus, from Latin, means foreign [source] which, in this context implies people who are new to birding.
