Didn't we all learn how to count in preschool? How hard can it be?

Counting birds sounds like such a trivial thing, but it's really pretty difficult, especially once you add the flying variable. A moving object is difficult to count and hundreds of moving objects are especially difficult to count. When you're trying to count them quickly, it can be a real hassle. Which is why estimation is your friend. Try it out with the photographs below (answers at the bottom):
